Windows 11 still mixes design languages from different decades, and file search is still slow. Microsoft’s answer was to build an ad slot into Explorer. Edge prompts, Bing prompts and OneDrive prompts all land on an operating system customers already paid for. The product stopped being the OS and started being the funnel.
