“Apple’s API will return the geolocations of up to 400 more BSSIDs that are nearby the one requested.”
Google answers a location lookup with one position. Apple hands back the locations of up to 400 nearby access points. Maryland researchers used that to map over two billion routers and found at least 3,722 Starlink terminals in Ukraine. Apple’s fix is that you rename your network to end in “_nomap.” Your router got enrolled without asking, and the opt-out is on you.
