“This really sucks to say after putting so much effort into it, but for regulatory reasons that have just come to light we’ve had to remove the open source passive radar code that we previously provided.”
KrakenRF sold a cheap SDR that could do passive radar off ambient broadcast signals. Then the open source radar code disappeared for unnamed “regulatory reasons” and the company is talking to lawyers. Nobody will say who called. When a hobby board can do radar without transmitting anything, somebody in a government office gets nervous. Buyers can return the hardware, which is the closest thing to an admission you’ll get.
