Jason Scott handed material to VCF and was told it went in the trash while they kept the bins. The response from VCF people was to call him a liar and argue over which VCF entity to blame. A preservation group that can’t keep its own story straight about a donation has no business taking one. Scott now attaches contingencies to every handoff, and every other archivist should too.
