Bending Spoons buys software companies, fires the staff, raises the prices, and milks the user base until it dies. They have done it to Evernote, Meetup, WeTransfer, and now Vimeo. The pattern is so consistent it should not be legal, but it is, and the only check on it is whether the acquired user base has anywhere else to go. Vimeo’s users mostly do not. The next two years will be ugly.
