Every few years someone tries to sell “search but you pay for it and it’s not full of ads” as the fix for Google. Nice interface, fair price, and the actual search results still can’t compete. Turns out the hard part of search was never the business model. It’s the index, and building a good one takes more than five euros a month and good intentions.
