Apple put out a Sunday press release to warn that the Zhengzhou plant that builds its top phones is crippled by COVID rules. The release says it is prioritizing worker health and safety twice. It never mentions that the factory is Foxconn’s, or what the workers inside it are living through. One city in China can still dent Apple’s biggest quarter. Diversifying the supply chain has been a slide in investor decks for years.
