“Other tools try to recover structure from text; Unison stores code in a database.”
Unison names every function by the hash of its contents. Renames never break anything and dependency conflicts mostly vanish. The catch is that your code no longer lives in text files, so git, grep and every editor you own stop being useful. It’s a genuinely new idea. New ideas that require throwing out the whole toolchain usually stay niche.
