Toyota says it can halve battery weight, size and cost and build a solid-state pack with 1,200km of range that charges in 10 minutes, with production as soon as 2027. A month earlier the UK ad regulator banned Toyota ads for overstating EV charging speed. In June last year it recalled 2,700 of its first EVs over wheels that could fall off. Toyota’s charging claims have a track record, and it is not a good one.
