Apple once printed Inside Macintosh, the gold standard for platform docs. Today much of its conceptual documentation for macOS hasn’t been touched in five years or more. The answer at WWDC was DocC, a new tool for writing docs. Apple has the tool. It still has to pay people to write the words.
