Switzerland’s public broadcaster shuts off its FM transmitters at the end of December, even though the government extended FM licences to the end of 2026. Digital radio had an 81% share of use in spring 2023. The remaining FM listeners are told their habit is too expensive to maintain. The broadcaster saves money, and the cost of a new radio lands on the listener.
