SUSE says it will fork Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hand the result to an open source foundation. The budget is $10 million spread over a few years, from a company with more than 2,000 employees. That buys a small team tracking someone else’s distribution. The real product here is a press release aimed at Red Hat’s unhappy customers.
