Valve still acts like the only adult in the room. The Steam Controller is a discontinued product, so they put the engineering files online for anyone to fix, fork, or print. Sony would have sued. Microsoft would have killed the URL. Nintendo would have sent the lawyers and a cease-and-desist. Valve just shipped the source.
