“Standard Ebooks releases all of the work we put in to each ebook into the public domain too.”
Project Gutenberg digitized the public domain and stopped at plain text with sloppy formatting. Standard Ebooks is volunteers fixing that by hand, tracked in Git, and giving their own work away under CC0. Amazon sells the same dead authors for 99 cents with broken typography. Free is the better edition here.
