“All JSON functions are rewritten to use a new internal parse tree format called JSONB.”
SQLite 3.45.0 stores JSON as a binary parse tree, so queries stop re-parsing the same text on every read. Postgres has had JSONB since 2014. SQLite got there without a server, a config file or a DBA. The same release quietly raised the default page limit from 1,073,741,824 to 4,294,967,294.
