“An FWS employee measured a sound intensity reading of 110 decibels (dB) three miles from the launch site during a static fire test conducted in February.”
The FAA approved Starship using 2019 models of a rocket rated at 61.8 meganewtons. The one on the pad in Boca Chica is rated at 74. The February static fire ran at 50 percent thrust and still beat the predicted noise at three miles by 10 to 100 times. Port Isabel and South Padre Island sit under 5 miles away, and SpaceX and the FAA refused to update the models when Fish and Wildlife asked.
