“That makes it especially tragic to report that nearly all the traffic to the site is now from SEO spam bots, presumably searching for all that elusive SEO spam-free content.”
A small search engine built to dodge SEO spam is now drowning in bots run by SEO spammers. They query “Powered by” footprints to find blogs and forums to plant links on. The real users are almost gone, and the server bill is not. Spam ruined the big search engines and now it eats the alternatives too.
