Mozilla laid off much of its Rust team last summer. Now Rust gets a foundation with seats for AWS, Huawei, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla. Half the board comes from the companies writing the checks. The language is safe from Mozilla’s budget problems. The question is whether it is safe from its sponsors.
