“More than a third (37 percent) of respondents in leadership roles believed their employers had undertaken layoffs in the past 12 months as a result of too few people quitting in protest of RTO mandates, the study found.”
A quarter of executives wanted return-to-office to push people out the door. When not enough quit, 37% of leaders say the layoffs followed. 42% of employees show up only to be seen, and 22% of HR staff admit they have no metric for whether RTO works. RTO was a layoff with a commute attached.
