Sony stops making PlayStation discs in 2028, which converts 93.7 million PS5 owners from buyers into licensees. The “Don’t Kill The Disc” petition went from 120,000 signatures on July 6 to over 345,000, and organizers want a week-long login blackout in late August. Sony has sat out every previous boycott and won. A disc is the only version of a game that still works when the store goes dark.
