“It’s not reasonable to expect coworkers to be at their computer for every minute from 8AM to 5PM.”
“Can we talk?” with no context ruins an afternoon. So does “hi” followed by nothing for ten minutes. One sentence of context would fix both. Managers who send these know exactly what they are doing.
