A journalist tried to submit public comment opposing a media merger through an astroturf front called “Neighbors for Strong Communities.” Its AI rewrote her letter into support and invented a personal backstory to go with it. That’s not moderation, that’s fabricating a constituent. The FCC’s comment process exists to gauge real public opinion, and this merger just showed how cheap it is to fake thousands of comments at once.
