“This eliminates the 70 total AC power supplies found in an equivalent legacy server rack within 32 servers, two top-of-rack switches, and one out-of-band switch, each with two AC power supplies.”

The half is per core. An Oxide rack runs 32 AMD Milan sleds and 2,048 cores on under 15kW, against 16 1U servers and 1,024 cores on over 16kW. The real gains are one DC busbar instead of 70 AC power supplies and fans that use 12x less energy. Hyperscalers already build racks this way. Everyone else was stuck buying servers one box at a time.
