OpenWrt wants its own router for under $100. It has a MediaTek MT7981B, 1 GiB of RAM, 2.5 GbE and an NVMe slot. Router vendors ship abandoned firmware full of holes, and OpenWrt has spent 20 years cleaning up after them. Now it’s building the hardware the vendors should have.
