OpenAI is valued at over $80 billion with no IPO coming, so tender offers are the only way staff can cash out. The company decides who gets in. Ex-employees at competitors are out, and so is anyone who skips the exit paperwork or falls short of “all applicable company policies, as determined by OpenAI.” The non-disparagement clawback got dropped last month. The vested equity is still a leash.
