Dharmesh Shah bought Chat.com for $15.5 million last year and flipped it to an unnamed buyer in March. The buyer was OpenAI, and Shah’s post implies he took payment in OpenAI shares. OpenAI won’t say what it paid. A company burning cash on compute just spent private paper on a redirect.
