A few dozen photos and the camera angles go in, and a 3D scene comes out in seconds. The research is real and the speedup is huge. The comparison to digital cameras and JPEG comes from NVIDIA’s own VP. “In some cases” is doing heavy lifting, and every one of those cases runs on an NVIDIA GPU.
