“The advanced nuclear reactor industry, such as it is, suffered a setback last week when the Nuclear Regulatory Commission denied Oklo Power’s application to build and operate the company’s Aurora compact fast reactor at a site in Idaho.”
The NRC says Oklo never supplied information on key parts of the design. Oklo says it answered every request. One of them is wrong. The NRC now has zero advanced reactor licenses under review, and venture-funded nuclear just learned that a pitch deck is not a safety case.
