“This lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds that Palworld, a game developed and released by the Defendant, infringes multiple patent rights.”
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company filed in the Tokyo District Court on September 18. The release says “multiple patent rights” and names none of them. It wants an injunction plus damages, which means pulling a game off the market, not just collecting a check. The biggest name in games is suing a small Tokyo studio and won’t say which inventions it supposedly stole.
