“It is traveling toward the inner solar system at around 152,000 mph.”
Object A11pl3Z is only the third confirmed interstellar visitor after ‘Oumuamua and Comet Borisov, spotted by the ATLAS telescopes in Hawaii and South Africa. It spans up to 12 miles across and is heading toward the inner solar system fast enough that our sun’s gravity can not capture it. It will pass near Mars and the Sun later this year before leaving forever. Three objects in the span of a few years suggests these visitors are far more common than anyone realized. We just finally have the telescopes to spot them.
