“Biscuit-flavoured cereals for babies aged six months and older contained 6g of added sugar for every serving in Senegal and South Africa, researchers found. The same product sold in Switzerland has none.”
Same Cerelac, same company, different rules depending on whose baby eats it. Nigeria got up to 6.8g of added sugar per serving. Switzerland got zero. Nestlé says it complies with local regulations, which is another way of saying it adds the sugar wherever nobody stops it. Cerelac sells over $1bn a year, and 40% of that comes from Brazil and India.
