“For the past year, The Kansas City Star has examined what happens to kids who age out of foster care and found that, by nearly every measure, states are failing in their role as parents to America’s most vulnerable children.”
The state takes a child away to protect them, then raises them worse. Kids age out with no family, no money and a trauma file. A lot of them end up in a cell. The state was the parent the whole time, and it never answers for the result.
