A Microsoft 365 job posting wants a principal architect to re-implement “existing global scale C# based services to Rust.” The target is Substrate, the platform behind Microsoft’s cloud services. Microsoft says it remains committed to C#. A company that owns a language and hires people to rewrite its own core code out of it has already answered that question.
