“You won’t be able to send pictures in messages or participate in group messages.”
Microsoft gets iMessage onto Windows by relaying messages over Bluetooth to the iPhone in your pocket. No pictures, no group chats, and no history beyond what passed through Phone Link. It cannot even tell an iMessage from an SMS. Apple keeps the walls up, and Microsoft ships a workaround that tunnels under them with a straw.
