Air-gapped industrial systems, embedded devices, and machines on networks too sensitive to touch the internet just lost a legitimate path to activation. Microsoft did not announce the removal, did not document the new requirements, and did not explain how the affected use cases are supposed to work. The remaining option is to buy a more expensive enterprise license. Which is, as always, the goal.
