Meta still runs a page listing its “pillars of responsible AI.” The team that was supposed to hold up those pillars now builds generative AI products. It had existed since 2019, lost staff to layoffs this year, and needed lengthy stakeholder negotiations to ship anything. Responsibility was a department right up until it got in the way of the roadmap.
