MDN moved about 11,000 pages from raw HTML to Markdown in six months. Web API docs alone were more than 6,000 of them. The best reference for writing HTML found out writing HTML is miserable. Seventeen years of docs in angle brackets, and the fix was a file format from a blog post in 2004.
