McKinsey Africa bribed officials at Transnet and Eskom from 2012 to 2016 and netted about $85 million in profit. The penalty is $123 million and a three-year deferred prosecution agreement, so no conviction for the company. One former partner pleaded guilty in 2022, and the plea stayed sealed until now. A fine $38 million above the profit, paid a decade later, is a cost of doing business.
