“There is only one way to explain them: They are linked to cycles in the interactions of Mars and Earth orbiting the sun.”

Researchers sampled nearly 300 drill cores covering 65 million years and found deep-sea currents strengthening and weakening on a 2.4 million year cycle. The cycle lines up with orbital resonance between Earth and Mars. That is a correlation in sediment gaps, and the lead author already says there is only one way to explain it. The same team concedes human warming will dwarf this effect for a long time to come, so nobody gets to blame Mars.
