“This is made possible through a project called Chicago95, that aims to bring a consistent, Win 95 look to XFCE desktops.”
Chicago95 turns an XFCE desktop into a near-perfect Windows 95. It’s nostalgia, and it’s also a design critique. Win95 had clear borders, real buttons and a Start menu with no ads. Microsoft has spent 27 years making that interface worse, and volunteers rebuilt the good version for free.
