Judge Rules DOD Unlawfully Retaliated Against Anthropic

The Department of Defense’s “supply chain risk” designation of Anthropic “constituted unlawful retaliation in violation of the First Amendment.”

Anthropic said no to mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. DOD punished the company for it by slapping on a bogus supply chain risk label. A judge called that out for what it was. The Pentagon has plenty of ways to lean on a contractor without a paper trail, so this is the rare case where one of them got caught and struck down.
