Twenty years ago jQuery solved the cross-browser pain that broke the web for every developer. The frontend industry moved on to React, Vue, Svelte, and the framework of the month. Meanwhile, jQuery still runs on more pages than any of them combined. The release is not flashy and that is the point. The library outlasted its replacements and it will outlast the next round, too.
