“The FDIC estimates that the cost to the Deposit Insurance Fund will be about $13 billion.”

First Republic had $229.1 billion in assets and $103.9 billion in deposits. JPMorgan, the biggest bank in the country, gets all 84 offices and substantially all the assets, and the FDIC agrees to share the losses on the loans. The deposit fund eats about $13 billion. Every other bank refills that fund, and their customers pay for it. Too big to fail just got bigger.
