Irish Data Protection Commission fines TikTok €530 million and orders corrective measures following Inquiry into transfers of EEA User Data to China

“Throughout the Inquiry, TikTok informed the DPC that it did not store EEA User Data on servers located in China.”

Ireland fined TikTok €530 million for sending European user data to China. TikTok told regulators throughout the inquiry that none was stored there. Then it found some had been and waited two months to say so. The regulator is weighing what to do about the false evidence.
