“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Pat for his many years of service and dedication to Intel”
Intel announced on December 2 that Pat Gelsinger retired effective December 1 and left the board too. Nobody retires effective yesterday. The CFO and a product chief now share the job as interim co-CEOs while a search committee hunts for someone else. The board’s new priorities are a leaner Intel and process leadership, which is a polite way of saying the plan Gelsinger came back in 2021 to deliver did not work.
