“We have decided to stop direct investment in the Next Unit of Compute (NUC) Business and pivot our strategy to enable our ecosystem partners to continue NUC innovation and growth.”
Intel sold its server systems business to MiTAC earlier this year and now drops the NUC too. The NUC ran everything from desktops to Kubernetes clusters in Chick-fil-A restaurants, largely because Intel stood behind it with real support. “Enable our ecosystem partners” means the support is gone and ASRock gets the market. Intel wants to sell chips, not answer the phone.
