Apple deprecated OSSpinLock and told everyone to use os_unfair_lock. Firefox tried it and some tests got 30% slower. The lock that actually works lives behind a non-public function and undocumented flags, which Mozilla had to copy into its own code. Apple’s own apps can use the good lock. Everyone else gets the warning.
