“Serving 80TB of bandwidth from S3 is estimated to cost around $4,000 per month alone, which is coincidentally about the same amount that is being donated to us on Patreon currently.”
The whole bill comes to about $370 a month. Cloudflare caches 85 percent of asset downloads, Backblaze stores the files for $11, and the rest is small change. Amazon would have eaten every donated dollar. AWS egress pricing is a tax on people who never shopped around.
