The advice is blunt. Lower everyone’s expectations right away, cut work in progress past where it feels comfortable, and drive maintenance on what you already own toward zero. Most underwater teams do the opposite and pile on more of the same. Half measures fool nobody. Teams that won’t cut anything end up shipping nothing on time.
