Lenacapavir is a shot given twice a year. None of the 2,134 young women on it got HIV, against 16 infections on Truvada and 39 on Descovy, the daily pills. Gilead sponsored the trial and says it will license generic makers. Nobody has named a price, and a drug tested in Uganda and South Africa only matters if Uganda and South Africa can afford it.
